Apple iPhone 7 2016 Release Date Will Deliver Phablet 7 Plus With 256GB Memory, Bigger Battery – Report

Apple is expected to roll out two new flagship phones this 2016 as part of its rumored iPhone 7 release date plans and a new report suggests that the bigger model, likely to be called iPhone 7 Plus, will pack twice the storage capacity seen with the 6S Plus and bigger battery as among the core feature upgrades.

From the already capacious 128GB iPhone 6S Plus that the tech giant had deployed October last year, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus will boast of 256GB internal memory, according to Techno Buffalo that cited a recent report by Chinese blog My Drivers as source. It was unclear if the same massive storage upgrade will apply to the 4.7-inch regular iPhone 7 though it should be noted that both the iPhone 6 and 6S Plus unboxed in 128GB edition.

And the fun will not stop on the on-board memory bump as the same report indicated that the bigger of the 2016 iPhones will draws its energy juice from a 3100mAh battery, which Techno Buffalo will represent some 12% hike from the immediate predecessor.

The report echoes too the swirling rumors that Apple will again introduce a fresh iPhone design blueprint that point to a different look and build for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. One key revision that can be expected is a slimmer next iPhone despite the provision of larger battery pack as mentioned above.

Likewise, Business Insider reported that the iPhone maker will unpack a totally different iOS smartphone this year. The upcoming device will not only further slim down but also shed most of its physical control buttons like the iconic Home key located at the front panel.

As a likely result, the iPhone this year could shrink in length while maintaining the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen profiles. A super-thin iPhone will also mean the elimination of the 3.5mm headphone jack, the report added.

Analysts are also convinced that Apple's sequel to the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will offer feature upgrades such as sapphire screen protection that will make the device display nearly unbreakable, water proofing and wireless charging.

On release date, which likely is scheduled around September 2016, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be powered by the tandem of A10 application processor and iOS 10 with the strong possibility of the third version - a 4-inch device that will be called the iPhone Mini.
