A recent GFXBench listing suggests that Chinese smartphone maker ZTE is working on a new phone that is running on Android 7.0 Nougat. The mysterious ZTE phone is codenamed BV0800.

According to the leaked listing from GFXBench, the ZTE BV0800 runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system. It has a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution. It has a Qualcomm chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and an Adreno 505 graphics processing unit.

The ZTE BV0800 is expected to have 3GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage, according to First Post. The phone has a 12-megapixel rear facing camera with autofocus, face detection, and HDR capabilities. It appears that the phone has a 12-megapixel front facing camera as well for video calling and selfie shots.

The GFXBench listing reveals that the ZTE BV0800 has an accelerometer, Bluetooth, compass, GPS, Wi-Fi sensor, pedometer, proximity sensor, and a gyroscope. The phone does not support dual SIM configuration, and this has led many to believe that it will have room for microSD cards for storage expansion.

ZTE is yet to officially confirm that it is indeed working on this phone. There are rumors that the phone will be released in China before the year end. It is still unknown whether the phone will be available in other markets.

Based on the specs listed on the GFXBench result, the phone is designed for the entry-level market. ZTE is probably working on a budget phone that supports the new Android Nougat operating system. Although the phone may not seem to be very powerful in terms of hardware specs, the fact that it runs on Android Nougat is a good enough selling point to attract buyers.
