9.3 Million Indians Engaging With US Presidential Polls on Facebook

Over 9.3 million Indians engaging with the US presidential election on Facebook across the country generated over 40 million likes, posts, comments, and shares.

Data about the conversations, interactions, and hundreds and thousands of posts that were generated on the social media platform during the US election reveals that 289 million people around the world were engaged with the topic.

Users worldwide generated a tremendous amount of buzz and about 10 billion likes, posts, comments and shares between 23 March 2015, and 1 November 2016 (Note: 23 March is the day Republican Ted Cruz declared his nomination for president, becoming the first candidate to do so).

India too is overly excited about the polls generating over 40 million likes, posts, comments and shares and about 40,284,000 conversations

Over 9.3 million Indians across the country that are on Facebook are engaging with the topic of the US election, giving their feedback on who should become the President - Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

Not so surprisingly, Mexico stood fourth behind the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom on the list of countries with the highest figure of interaction.

In 2015, the most talked-about subject globally on Facebook was the 2016 US presidential election.

The second presidential debate on October 9; the release of the Access Hollywood tape; the first presidential debate on September 26; the third presidential debate on October 19; the Democratic Convention, FBI Director Comey reopens investigation into Clinton emails; the Republican Convention; the Vice Presidential Debate on October 4; Trump criticizes the Khan family after the Democratic Convention; and Super Tuesday on March 1.
