While most virtual reality headsets are designed to work with smartphones, high-end VR headsets work with PCs. It is important to check whether your PC is ready for Virtual Reality and VRMark can help you do that. The test was created by Futuremark, which has created benchmarking tools such as Fire Strike.

VRMark is available in two different versions; Basic and Advanced Editions. The Basic Edition allows users to run Orange Room test. The test can determine whether a PC is ready for VR headsets such as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. A PC is given a pass score if it can reach the target frame rate without dropping frames. The test also provides the overall score.

The Basic edition of VRMark lets users run the test on a PC. Alternatively, it can be run using the VR headset in an experience mode. Users can walk through the test room using this mode. The experience mode also offers a flashlight and spatial audio.

The Advanced edition of VRMark comes with advanced analytical tools to check the VR readiness of computers. Users can check their frame rate, GPU load, GPU temperature, and GPU frequency.  The edition also offers more detailed results and monitoring charts. Users can run both Orange and Blue Room tests. The Advanced Edition is priced at $20.

VRMark is currently available through Steam and Futuremark. It can be used with PCs running Windows 7 (SP1) 64 Bit and above. The Advanced Edition is currently priced at $15, down from its regular price.
