Android 7.0 Nougat is now available for Nexus devices and other smartphones including Huawei, HTC, Motorola, LG, Sony, Samsung and more. However, some users have complained that the latest OS is filled with bugs. The Nexus 6P and 5X devices are said to be plagued with several issues when upgraded to the Nougat.

To downgrade to the Marshmallow, users need a stock firmware build of the Android Marshmallow. Lucky for Nexus 6P and 5X users, Google offers factory images for all Nexus devices. Users can download all the factory images and follow the step-by-step flashing instructions. To successfully flash an image, a user needs the newest fastboot tool which can be downloaded from here. To flash a system image, a user needs to get the right system image for their device and save the archive to a safe location.

With a USB, a user needs to connect the device to a computer and use one of these methods to start the device in fastboot mode: Adb tool or key combination. Some users might need to get the bootloader by running: fastboot flashing unlock. Once it is running, navigate to the location where the system image was unloaded and execute the flash-all script. The device should reboot, and the user needs to lock the bootloader for maximum security.

The upcoming Android Nougat will bring new features to devices, fix bugs, and issues and improve overall performance. It is expected to bring a tweaked UI with instant control toggles and space-efficient notifications. It would also come with a quick switch and multi-window for excellent multitasking. The Android Nougat will also feature the Vulkan API support which improves gaming and VR quality.
