Asus launched ZenPad S 8.0 to compete with the iPad Mini 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
Asus launched ZenPad S 8.0, which sports a super sharp screen and very slim handy design, back in June 2015 to compete with the iPad Mini 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
Asus ZenPad S 8.0 is very similar compared to the iPad mini 2 and it offers similar performance at a lesser price. Asus ZenPad S 8.0 offers a 2k (1536x2048 resolution) 8-inch screen which is similar to what the iPad Mini 2 offers. Screen is quite sharp and vivid which makes the whole experience more exceptional and high-end than what you get at this price tag. Asus ZenPad S 8.0 even allows you to alter the saturation, white balance and includes a nifty Bluelight filter mode to reduce eyestrain.

The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 also excel in the field of form factor as the tablet is thinner and lighter than the iPad Mini 2. Asus' flagship Asus ZenPad S 8.0 is only 6.6mm thick, which is exactly .9 mm lesser than the iPad Mini 2, and weighs around 298 grams which is exactly 43 grams lighter than the iPad Mini 2.
ZenUI has a neat feature which uses a dynamic folder system to automatically club all your apps in to smart folders. Feature can also be switched off which leaves all the apps out in the open.
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0, however, does not excel in all aspects of a tablet as its front dual speakers are not the loudest available in the market. When watching videos at full volume, sound is not quite good for a front firing speaker. Asus also packs a lot of bloatware with the tablet.
Price tag is tempting for Asus ZenPad S 8.0, and the iPad Mini 2 with a higher price tag is not having anything more to offer than the ZenPad tablet.
