Lenovo Moto Z2 Play is starting to catch the attention of smartphone enthusiasts. With its latest photo leak, consumers will have to expect something new from the said Lenovo smartphone this 2017.

Since its acquisition of Motorola, Lenovo has been trying to increase the popularity of its Moto devices. With the growing market influence of the Moto Z line and other modular phone designs by the same brand, the company will once again try to lure consumers with its Moto Z2 Play.

Latest update concerning the device includes a leaked press render of the upcoming sequel. On first glance, the looks of the device are much similar to its predecessor the Moto Z models.

Design-wise there are no great changes showcased by the photo leak. This would somehow affirm to the previous promise of the company that those who invested in MotoMods would also get used out of them with the next iteration of the Moto Z, according to GSM Arena.

With the Z2 render being released online, it is expected that the device will have same wrap-around antenna band. Aside from that, the render also made it apparent that the earlier model is the 16-prong connector for Lenovo's Moto Mods will remain for the Z2 Play model, according to Digital Trends.

This would mean those high-end cameras, external batteries, speakers, projectors, and even physical keyboards could still be connected with the device. Therefore, adding to the functionality of the device.

Although the device is yet to be confirmed by the manufacturer, specs of it are highly speculated following the render leak. It is believed that mid-range version of the Z2 will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652.

For the high-end version of the device, it is expected that it will be equipped 5MP front-facing camera and a rear 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection and laser autofocus, and dual-LED flash. The battery life of previous Moto Z model will likely be improved in the upcoming Lenovo Moto Z2 Play.

As for its release date and price, it still remained unconfirmed as well. However, based on the latest online reports, its release date is scheduled on June 8 this year.
