Lenovo has started rolling out invitations for an event on February 26 in Barcelona, Spain, a day ahead of the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC).

Lenovo is set to showcase a new generation of smartphones under its newly acquired Moto brand. The much-awaited successor to the Moto G Series, the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, are likely to make an appearance at the MWC.

The invitation, which is dated one day before the MWC, shows off a smartphone over a green background while casting a shadow in the shape of the iconic Sagrada Familia church, a famed church in Barcelona, Spain.

The smartphone depicted may be the speculated Moto G5 Plus. According to a reported leak online, it will sport a 5.5-inch FHD screen with a 1080p resolution.

The G5 Plus is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with 3GB or 4GB RAM paired with an Adreno 506 graphics processing unit. The device is likely to sport a 13 megapixels rear snapper and a five megapixels front shooter. It will most likely to run on Android Nougat 7.0 straight out of the box. The leaked photos also suggest a physical home button fitted with a fingerprint scanner. The device is likely to have 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and might run on a 3080mAh battery. There is still no information regarding the Moto G5, but it will most likely be an improved version of its predecessor.

Lenovo is also apparently planning to launch a new generation of the Moto X series, having leaked renders of the phone online in December 2016. The Moto Z, however, should not be forgotten. In December, Lenovo told a group of executives that it would keep on developing new ideas for the Moto Mods. Potential ideas like game controllers, external storage, remote control, measurement tools, and much more are among those that developers have predicted would be added.
