You can download Instapaper for free! (Flickr)
Existing and new users can now get the premium version of Instapaper for free!
The company of the read-it-later service told the public that the application is now available for download at zero cost. The free commercial version of Instapaper features unlimited notes and speed reading, full-text search, playlists covering text and speech, and zero advertisements. It can also send files to Kindle and can keep up to 50 articles in Kindle Digests.

Articles can be saved directly to the account using bookmarklets or browser extensions. Article readability can also be improved through the button available in the browser. Other formatting properties that can be changed include font and speed reading functionality. Users can also like and share articles.
Users who already use the premium version of Instapaper need not worry as they will get subscription refunds with a guarantee that they will no longer receive bills in the future.
The discontinuation of Instapaper's paid service was likely influenced by Pinterest's taking over of the company in August. It is possible that Pinterest is only after certain Instapaper technologies or it could help the latter grow in the midst of competition with other applications such as Pocket.
The company announced, "now that we're better resourced, we're able to offer everyone the best version of Instapaper."
Instapaper subscription was priced at $3 a month and $30 annually.
