TCL 950 Smartphone with Snapdragon 820 SoC and 21MP Camera Officially Launched in China

Chinese smartphone manufacturer TCL has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone - the TCL 950 - in China.

According to Phone Radar, the TCL 950 measures 6.99mm thickness and comes with a 2.5D arc glass on its front and back supported by an aluminum frame. It sports a power button on the left edge and a volume rocker on the right edge.

The TCL 950 has a 5.5-inch full high-definition AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 500 nits of brightness. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at a speed of 2.15 GHz and coupled with Adreno 530 GPU.

The TCL 950 comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back which can also be used for authorizing mobile payments.

The TCL 950 comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage which can be extended up to 128 GB. It is packed with a 3000 mAh non-removable battery that also supports Quick Charge 3.0.

The TCL 950 features a 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 camera at the back with phase detection autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. It also carries an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front with the same f/2.2 aperture. 

The TCL 950 supports dual SIM dual standby with a hybrid SIM slot where the users can use a microSD card instead of the secondary SIM. It has dual stereo speakers placed on the top and bottom edge to provide the HiFi sound.

The TCL 950 has a multi-function key that looks similar to the Xperia power button, GSM Arena reported. It can be customized to open apps by single and double presses. Other connectivity options include WiFi, GPS, 4G LTE, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB Type-C port.

The TCL 950 will be available in gold and silver color. It is priced at $495 (3299 Yuan or around Rs. 33,000) and will be sold through TCL's online store and JD.com.
