The Canon 5D Mark IV is set to hit the market soon. While some people are excited with the initial reviews of the gadget, others appear unexcited about its arrival.
Since this is an upgraded version of the Japanese tech giant's top-of-the-line camera, there were many expectations. But, why are some not happy with the upcoming high-end DSLR?
Canon started taking orders for the Canon 5D Mark IV last week, but shipping would begin in September.
According to Cult of Mac, Canon made some improvements to its already "amazing" unit with its latest device.
The first noted upgrade in the Canon 5D Mark IV is its 30.4-megapixel full-frame sensor, which is coupled with a 150,000 pixel RGB+IR metering sensor that reportedly brings improvement to facial recognition and gives the camera the capacity to capture fast-moving subjects.
Some other new features of the device are its touch-screen function, vibration control system, Wi-Fi capability and 4K video.
Meanwhile, Resource Magazine pointed out that Canon's move to incorporate certain new features on the 5D Mark IV has been a good decision.
"From a purely stills perspective, this is a big step in the right direction, and I'm thus far pretty happy with what I have seen," the magazine stated in its review. "It will, of course, take a lot more testing and time in the field, but for now, I am optimistic with the experience."
Despite these good words from some, No Film School shared its reservation.
"The biggest news for filmmakers is that the Mark IV finally includes 4k recording (what a great branding tie-in, Mark IV: 4k!), though in actual delivery it looks like serious users will be disappointed by its video offering," the report said.
