Oxygen OS 3.5 Released for One Plus 3

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has released the latest build of its operating system called the Oxygen OS.

The latest version of the OS has been released as a "Community Build" of the OxygenOS 3.5. This version is only for the company's flagship OnePlus 3. It is based on the Android Marshmallow. The previous version of the OxygenOS 3.2.4 did more harm than good. Now it looks like the Chinese company is determined to fix any issues that customers might have with their smartphones.

Among the new features included in the latest build are UI enhancements. There are also new and improved apps, including clock, weather and file manager.  The camera app has also been revamped, so OnePlus 3 users can expect slightly better quality pictures. OnePlus has also confirmed that the update brings more solid settings and customization features along with increased battery life

These are the improvements that are most obvious, OnePlus states the many other changes have been made under the hood, such as streamlining OxygenOS to feature even more back-end enhancements.

Since this is only a community build, there are some functionalities that the users will have to give up on until the final build. For example, Android Pay is not supported in this build. The same goes for localization, as many OnePlus apps only support English.

OnePlus has confirmed the community build has some performance problems, as well as UI issues when using custom themes. The System UI tuner is unstable, so it is not recommended to use it since it can cause serious issues that cannot be fixed unless a factory reset is done.

If you are already taking advantage of the fingerprint authentication, then you must re-register your fingerprints after updating to the OxygenOS 3.5. 

OnePlushas stated that it is working on improving and streamlining the update process. The company claims that it would increase the speed and frequency of future updates.
