Netflix is without a doubt the biggest and most successful streaming company across the globe at present. According to statistics, the company which debuted only 15 years ago has over 40 million subscribers in the United States alone.  Likewise as of 2016, Netflix has 34 million international customers.

Because of how easy it is to watch series and movies on Netflix, over 70 percent of its users have admitted to binge watching on the streaming program one time of the other. For those who watch on their smartphones through mobile data with data caps, indulging on Netflix could pose a problem on mobile plan charges. Fortunately, Netflix has recently announced a solution to its users' data problem.

Just last week, Netflix introduced a new set of mobile data controls that would allow users to tinker with the quality of video streaming should they choose to use Netflix on their smartphones. According to the announcement, as reported by Mac Rumors, being able to adjust video quality would allow users to watch movies and series for a longer period of time without overages. The new feature comes in the aftermath of Netflix' recent global expansion.

"As we have launched Netflix around the world, we have seen big differences in how much people are streaming on smartphones and what kinds of mobile data plans they have. Today, we are offering a new tool to help you better control how much data you use when streaming on cellular networks," read a part of Netflix' official statement published on the company's website.

The new cellular data control will provide more or less three hours worth of TV show and movies per gigabyte of data. The latest specification is perfect for users who have smaller mobile data caps. However, for subscribers with higher mobile data allowances, the Netflix' video quality can be easily adjusted.

According to the official announcement, users can set their cellular data image through an updated Android or iOS Netflix app. In the latest version of the app, users should select "App Settings" from the main menu and pick "Cellular Data Usage" in order to change their mobile data settings.
