Fans of the Adult Swim hit cartoon series "Rick and Morty" will have something to go by while waiting for the third season. Adult Swim Games has revealed the new title and judging from the looks of the gameplay, it appears that the show is harking to the fan-favorite "Pokemon" games' adventures.

Dubbed as "Pocket Mortys," the new mobile game is a free-to-play title that features the familiar gameplay seen in Pokemon games. There's a short GIF of what happens in the game via GameSpot. Here, it is seen that the player may take on the role of Morty's grandfather Rick. He will be challenged by different alien life forms, and their mode of battle is none other than using the different Mortys to duke it out against each other.

Since the release date of the game is in a week, Adult Swim Games has sent IGN an image depicting the 52 Mortys that can be found in "Pocket Mortys." Going by the show's main premise of aliens, mutants and all things science and weird, there are a number of hilarious Mortys to be caught. Instead, players can expect a wide range of Mortys that are pretty close to the concept of the "Rick and Morty" show.

Some human-like Mortys include the original Morty, Buff Morty, Wrestler Morty, Stray Cat Morty, Two Cat Morty, Hipster Morty and Cowboy Morty. There are even hilarious "skins" of Morty, where the character changes his shirt color, hence the birth of Orange Shirt Morty, Swimming Morty, Green Shirt Morty, Blue Shirt Morty and Red Shirt Morty.

Not to lose the science aspect of "Rick and Morty," the game also features the oddballs like Mermaid Morty, Reverse Mermaid Morty, Cronenberg Morty, Mini Morty, No Skin Morty and Colossal Head Morty.

"Pocket Mortys" will arrive on mobile devices on Jan. 14 on iOS and Android devices. So far, the developer has not yet revealed the main mechanics of the game. It would be interesting to see what powers and attacks each of the Mortys have. More importantly, it would also be good to see how the battles will take place in "Pocket Mortys."
