The official site unveiled that portraying the role of Hanna is Nana Mizuki. Hanna is a Mysteria Academy student council president who comes from an Elf tribe. She will join previously unveiled cast members such as Grea, a princess born from a human, a dragon played by Ayaka Fukuhara, and Anne, the honor student princess played by Yoko Hikasa. The three voice actresses repeat their characters from "Rage of Bahamut" social game. The website also unveiled the character designs of the three girls on Sunday.

The sequel will appear first on April 1 as part of the programming block of "Ultra Super Anime Time" fourth season, which was released by Ultra Super Pictures in July. The season will feature series of anime shots as directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi.

Directing the anime and overseeing scripts at Studio Hibari is Happy Lesson and Candy Boy's director Takafumi Hoshikawa. Megumi Ishihara will serve as chief animation director and character designer. Serving as art director is Kenichi Kurata, and composing the music is Takashi Watanabe.

The anime will adapt the Mysteria Academy in the English version or "Manaria Maho Gakuin" event within the "Rage of Bahamut" social game. The game will feature Mysteria Academy as an influential magic school that teaches magic with no partiality to men, gods, and demons (the three factions), who are battling each other. The anime will focus on the three female students of the academy.

The fantasy social card game "Rage of Bahamut" stimulated the 13-episode Genesis TV anime series that appeared first in October 2014.

In May 2015, a staff declared that a second season had been on a go-signal. However, the "Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends" has no relation to its second season as mentioned by Nobuhiro Takenaka, Cygames anime division employee.
