"Days Gone" got big presence at E3 2017 but SIE Bend Studio was not yet ready to reveal the release date of the hotly anticipated zombie apocalypse survival horror game. But if the latest unintentional leak from Sony is any indication, it will hit PS4 later this year.

It is not the first time that a leak pertaining to the elusive release date of "Days Gone" was reported but this time, it's courtesy of Sony's PlayStation. This latest news stemmed from a trailer posted on the official PlayStation channel on YouTube.

The trailer in question is a compilation of several PS4 exclusive video games that were showcased at E3 2017 last week. When it showed the sequence for "Days Gone", a text read, "Coming to PlayStation 4 December 29th, 2017."

It has then spewed speculations that the open-world survival horror game will be launched during the holiday season of 2017. But what makes the fans even more curious is that the video was immediately removed and that's because Sony might not be quite ready yet to divulge this information to the gaming community or it could be an error of sorts.

While for some it seems that it's not the usual time to release huge titles during the last month of the year but who really knows what Sony has in mind. It could still be plausible though, given that most of the big first-party offerings announced last week at the annual trade expo will be launching on PS4 sometime in 2018.

"Days Gone" is set in post-apocalyptic American mid-west, where a mysterious outbreak causes humans to turn into zombie-like creatures called Freakers. It features a dynamic weather system, with day to night cycle that affects Freakers' behaviors.

Players will take on the role of bounty hunter and biker Deacon St. John and can ride motorbikes for travel, craft new items or enhance their combat skills. Below is the latest gameplay trailer of "Days Gone" fresh from E3 2017.
