Blizzard Entertainment is a popular game developer and publisher of known popular games, like "Warcraft," "Diablo," and "StarCraft" series. "Overwatch", which was released on May 24th, 2016 is a team-based online multiplayer, first-person shooter video game developed and published by the aforementioned company. In the continued effort of Blizzard to deliver quality gaming entertainment, it announces its plans for an "Overwatch" special event, which was targetted to be released on May 23, 2017.

This event also marks the game's anniversary. It was first discovered by an informal Xbox listing of anniversary loot boxes according to TrueAchievements reports. Another mishap was when Blizzard answered a fan question on Twitter. The company replied that the event is happening, but with no timing details yet.

As per the recent reports, each of the loot boxes contains up to four cosmetic items, including at least one Anniversary Skin, Spray, Highlight Intro, Emote, Victory Pose, Player Icon, or Voice Line. What is good is even if you already have the said item, you can still receive in-game credits in exchange for it.

Aside from the anniversary event, Overwatch might also get an award for "Game of the Year Edition." This does not come as a surprise, because it certainly won plenty of awards last year, including GameSpot's Game of the Year.

Blizzard is clearly keeping the special event on hype. These players are Overwatch' moneymakers, boosting the game's sales enormously over the past year. Overwatch is Blizzard's eighth billion-dollar franchise. Though there is no price revealed yet for the anniversary update or if there is, it is still a win-win for Blizzard especially if it attracts more game players. There is no doubt that the gamers are very happy with the "Overwatch" game from Blizzard.
