Amazon and Apple are working together to bring the Amazon Prime Video service to Apple's set-top box. The news of the upcoming upgrade has boosted interest in the Apple TV.
Apple is expected to make the much-awaited announcement at WWDC next month, according to BGR. In an epic team-up, Amazon's Prime Video service is all set to compliment Apple's set-top box. Buzzfeed's John Paczkowski reports that the move makes one of Apple TV's most glaring shortcomings a thing of the past.
The actual announcement is set to be made in three weeks time, according to the Indian Express. However, the actual implementation of the project will still take a few more weeks.
A few years back, nobody was interested in the streaming service from Amazon. But the genius of Jeff Bezos and co. have transformed Amazon Prime Video into a stand-alone service which has yielded over the top results. The service, which is made available to Prime members only, is not exactly like Netflix.
What's more, Apple and Amazon have reportedly agreed to the sale of the Apple TV on Amazon's online retail stores. In 2015, Amazon kicked Apple TV and Google's Chromecast to the curb.
However, Amazon, which banned Apple TV devices and Google's Chromecast devices from its virtual shelves two years ago, will resume selling Apple's set-top box.
