Kickass Torrents team prepares to celebrate sixth annual 'Happy Torrents Day' celebration on March 30.

Despite facing many hurdles, Kickass Torrents is preparing to celebrate its traditional "Happy Torrents Day."

Kickass Torrents has captured the Internet's attention, gaining millions of unique visitors each day. In fact, it was beating The Pirate Bay until it was brought down by the US government in July and its alleged founder Artem Vaulin was arrested.

However, this did not prevent the KAT team from continuing what they have started as some crew members regrouped and got the community part of the site running again. They launched their new home, the Katcr.co forum, and dropped hints of a possible torrents comeback.

In December, a new version of the site was indeed launched, and a few months later, the site is still running and keeps growing its user base. With its new niche, the KAT group is continuing its legacy.

Torrent day, started by KAT administrator Mr. Pink in 2011, is an annual event celebrated every March 30. During this day, the majority of uploaders upload their torrent dedicated to torrent day. While it used to be a small gathering, through the years, it has got thousands of new people participating.

In line with the 6th "Happy Torrents Day" celebration, KAT is encouraging its users to download and share as much as possible. Aside from that, the KAT team has also prepared various challenges and events.

"Five years ago we realized that what our users do on KickAssTorrents, what they believe in and enjoy, needed celebrating. A day to give back to them what they give to us," Mr. Black, KAT administrator, told TorrentFreak in 2016.

"Every torrent community is different and individual in its own way but we all believe in freedom of sharing and of course share one of the most important things in common. Torrents."

Meanwhile, it is not yet known if such celebration will come under the radar of the American cyber watch authorities after recent Wikileaks report reveal that the CIA can easily gain access to American residents' private information without too much effort, according to Droid Report.

Furthermore, even Microsoft-owned Bing has already joined search engine giant Google in preventing illegal downloading websites like The Pirate Bay and Kickass Torrents from continuing their illegal practices.

Until then, let's see how the "Happy Torrents Day" celebration will turn out.
