(Photo : YouTube) Speculations are all over about the existence of the so-called Microsoft Surface Phone, especially from the Redmond-based software giant itself.

Microsoft China may have unceremoniously revealed the much hyped successor to its Lumia series of devices. The smartphone dubbed Lumia Phone X or Surface Phone was accidentally revealed in a video that explains how Continuum works.

The video itself did not provide many details about the Lumia Phone X and focused more on how Continuum works. However, down on the description tab, it claims that Continuum is currently supported only by a handful of devices which are; Acer Jade Primo, Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL and the Lumia Phone X.

Microsoft China was quick to make necessary corrections on the description of the video. However, it was too late to undo everything since several Weibo users were able capture the original description tab that includes the Lumia Phone X, according to Tech Times.

Once the original video was uploaded, it spread like wildfire all over several tech devoted websites and blog sites.

A translation of the description was acquired by GSM Arena and the controversial note at the last part of its reads, "Note: This feature requires a compatible mobile device is intended for use, for example Lumia 950/XL, Lumia Phone X and Acer Jade Primo."

What caught many analysts attention is the addition of the Lumia Phone X. No information, not even rumors, about the existence of Lumia Phone X has been in circulation. This led many analysts to suggest that it might be the rumored Surface Phone that everyone is talking about.

Rumors have it that Microsoft is finally laying the Lumia series of devices to rest and instead launch a new brand that will carry its spirit, this time under the Windows 10 Mobile banner. With the recent success of the Surface Pro and Surface Book, it sounds logical that Microsoft will release a smartphone device to complete the brand's lineup of devices.

Several reports claim that the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be the first and last Lumia phone to be released this year. There are a handful of rumors claiming that the Lumia 750 and Lumia 850 are already cancelled. However, there are certain indications that Microsoft is pushing on with the Surface Phone project.
