Samsung is launching the biggest android smartphone later this month during a press conference on March 29. Galaxy users cannot wait for the release of the new S8 but reports have claimed of the high-priced phone that is more expensive than its predecessors.

The South Korea-based technology giant will unveil the Galaxy S8, reportedly, either on March 29 or a month later that is on April 28. Samsung initially planned to release the android smartphone on April 21 but has decided to push back due to unknown reasons. The company is yet to announce an official release of the Galaxy S8 but UK retailer MobileFun has already begun taking presale orders.

According to the well-known retailer, Galaxy S8 is priced at €799, which is currently converting to $844 US. Samsung has upped the price of the 5.8-inch smartphone as compared to last year when the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge priced at $650 and $750, respectively. It seems like android users will be paying even more if this pricing continues to hold up.

The sky-high price for the Galaxy S8 is expected and reasonable as Samsung has added new features and upgrades to keep up with its competitors. The upcoming killer smartphone will have a fast new Snapdragon 835 processor, super AMOLED displays, an upgraded RAM, 64GB of storage, dual pixel rear cameras, an Android Nougat, and the latest Samsung feature that hit the news earlier this week: facial recognition.

Samsung quickly decided of the facial recognition for the Galaxy S8 due to rumors that claim its smartphone rival Apple is likely to replace the fingerprint scanner with a face scanner on its next iPhone 8 set to be released in September. "Due to some limits of iris scanning such as speed and accuracy, we have decided to add facial recognition to the Galaxy S8," a Samsung official said. "With a face scanner, it will take less than 0.01 seconds to unlock the phone."

The facial recognition technology was already done and found in the Note 7 but android users will experience the feature in a larger market when Samsung adds it on the Galaxy S8. Another official from the company has said that its mobile business division is already testing the S8 prototypes.

Aside from facial recognition in the much-awaited Samsung smartphone of the year, rumors claim that the phone is set to have a fingerprint scanning home button on the back with its display screen covering most of the front body. Of course, everything from the price to the new features remains to be seen and proved until Samsung releases the Galaxy S8.
