Fans of the GTA franchise are hopeful the "GTA 6" will arrive soon. Not that the "GTA Online" is failing, but simply because there's always a sequel and it can never be too early to ask for one. Unfortunately, Rockstar has not given much hope to fans especially when they are still enjoying the massive revenues the latest game title is currently providing.

But all is not lost when it comes to "GTA 6." Remember Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us 2" title? It took years before it was developed, and Naughty Dog never mentioned it once. Except for some few hints on a highly overrated spoilers, it seem like the game that will weather years to develop.

It's likely that Rockstar is also treading the same path as Naughty Dog, of course in a manner fans cannot establish whether the "GTA 6" is next or something else. Currently, Rockstar is working on the "Red Dead Redemption 2" leaving a very small room for the "GTA 6" to suffice. But in a statement said last year by Rockstar's Leslie Benzies, she confirmed they still have 45 years of ideas and "GTA 6" could be one of them.

Meanwhile, here is when Rockstar released its previous GTA titles beginning with Grand Theft Auto in 1997, followed by Grand Theft Auto II in 1999. Two years passed and Grand Theft Auto III arrived in 2001 and that's when the franchise went on a hiatus, returning only in 2008 for Grand Theft Auto IV. And now, the highly successful "Grand Theft Auto V" is still reigning the charts even after it was released 2013.

The next possible year for Rockstar to release "GTA 6" will be 2018 if we follow the sequence of previous GTA titles. Possibly, after the release of the "Red Dead Redemption 2" is when the "GTA 6" game will start.
