Samsung is rumored to release a refurbished edition of Galaxy Note 7 alongside the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are officially confirmed to launch on March 29. Rumors indicate Samsung will announce three smartphones namely, the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 7 (refurbished edition) in the first half of 2017.
According to Playful Droid, the South Korean tech giant may also announce a refurbished model of the Galaxy Note 7 silently on the same day after the launch of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Since the rumor says refurbished Note 7 launching in first half of this year. It is also possible that it may get unveiled few weeks after the launch of Galaxy S8 flagship.
in the leaked image, the Galaxy S8 can be seen sitting on the extreme left whereas the larger Galaxy S8+ is present on the extreme right. The Galaxy Note 7 is placed in the middle. There is no confirmation on whether the Galaxy Note 7 present in the video is a refurbished device.
The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 has a model number of SM-N935 and it is codenamed as Grace R. The letter R probably indicates that it is a refurbished model. Samsung had to discontinue the Galaxy Note 7 few months after its launch in 2016 because of its faulty batteries.
The refurbished units are expected to house a smaller battery of 3,000 mAh capacity. The original Galaxy Note 7 was packed with 3,500 mAh battery. Rumors also hint that refurbished Note 7 will have a redesigned chassis and may not feature a dual-edge curved display. The Note 7 was launched with a pricing of $849. Its refurbished edition pricing is not known, but it is expected to carry an affordable price tag, Gizmo China reported.
