OnePlus has officially release the beta edition of Android 7.1 Nougat update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users. It is now available for all the users who have participated in the beta program.

According to
OnePlus, the Android 7.1 Nougat beta update is not based on OxygenOS, but it is based on HydrogrenOS. Also, one should be aware of the fact that this build is aimed towards Chinese editions of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. However, there is no confirmation on why the company decided on releasing HydogenOS flavored update when Chinese users prefer OxygenOS update, Phone Arena reported.

The new update contains Android security patch for March month. Users who have installed the update have claimed that the update has improved touch latency. It also brings update to the Gallery and it also features an inbuilt image editor. The Android 7.1 Nougat beta build weighs 1.32 GB. OnePlus is also expected to release OxygenOS flavored Android 7.1 Nougat update in the near future.

On December 31, OnePlus had released Android 7.0 Nougat based update. However, the update was plagued bugs because of which the Chinese manufacturer released OxygenOS 4.0.1 update that fix APN settings for some service providers and it also improved the overall stability of the software. It also fixed the proximity sensor bug and it also fixed the issue that prevented users from downloading Google Play Store.

OnePlus 2 Android 7.0 Nougat Update

OnePlus has not released Android 7.0 Nougat update for OnePlus 2 users. In Decembers, its users were provided with OxygenOS 3.5.5 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. This update activated the VoLTE feature for OnePlus 3 users.

The Chinese manufacturer is noit going to release Nougat update for these smartphones as they are powered by Snapdragon 801, a chipset that is incompatible with the graphics drivers for Nougat.
