Last month, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was revealed to take up 13.4 GB on the Nintendo Switch, concerning players about the need to buy SD cards for the hybrid console which only has 32 GB of internal storage.

According to reports, only around 26 GB of free space will be available on Nintendo Switch out of the box and it is not a welcome news for players who plan to go fully digital. Nintendo Japan has now announced the digital download sizes for a couple of titles for Nintendo Switch, unveiling more bad news and a new problem for the hybrid console.

According to Nintendo Japan, Puyo Puyo Tetris will take up 1.09 GB; I Am Setsuna will take up 1.40 GB; Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! will take up 1.60 GB; Nobunaga's Ambition will take up 5 GB; Disgaea 5 will take up 5.92 GB; Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will take up 7 GB; and finally, Dragon Quest Heroes I & II will take up 32 GB.

Dragon Quest Heroes I & II will not be able to fit in the Nintendo Switch internal storage by itself and the game will require gamers to have an SD card to install and play the game through a digital copy.

One of the advantages of the Nintendo Switch is its portability as players can remove the hybrid console from the dock and use the device on the go. However, because of its internal storage limit, players would have to bring a couple of cartridges or SD cards which can be pretty inconvenient. It also comes with an extra cost and complexity of managing several SD cards compared to simply downloading digital games.
