First Look at Nintendo Switch

Details on Nintendo Switch games list reveals something that potential buyers should be wary of. The announcement of the Nintendo Switch was met with mixed reactions from consumers and developers alike.

Some developers find Nintendo's latest console a weak and under-powered device. On the other hand, other gamers loved its portability and the Nintendo Switch games list that was announced along with the console.

However, the revelation of the Nintendo Switch specs could give potential customers some second thoughts. The Nintendo Switch reportedly has a max internal storage capacity of up to 32GB.

Furthermore, Switch owners won't be able to fully utilize the bulk of the 32GB storage since a significant amount is reserved for the console's operating system. This gives owners less-than-ample amount of space for video games install files and updates.

According to Kotaku, some games could even take up 32GB worth of storage space, such as the "Dragon Quest Heroes" game. In fact, the size of "Dragon Quest Heroes" alone is big enough, that no amount of free space on the Nintendo Switch can ever make way for such a game regardless if the console was factory cleaned.

Other Nintendo Switch games list shows titles that are also just as significantly big as "Dragon Quest Heroes." These games include "Disgaea" which requires 5.9GB of free space, and "Breath Of The Wild" which requires at least 13.4GB storage space.

In this case, potential Nintendo Switch buyers will have to resort to MicroSD cards. However, the standard SD card won't do, since the Switch only accepts MicroSDXC cards, which it supports for up to a 2TB capacity. This might be the only way to fully enjoy the Nintendo Switch, as getting a MicroSDXC card is basically mandatory.

Meanwhile, despite the surprisingly large file size of its games, the Nintendo Switch utilizes cartridges that are the opposite of those massive storage sizes. According to Polygon, the Nintendo Switch games list will be using cartridges that are the size of a regular eraser.

It's quite surprising that the Nintendo Switch game cartridges are even smaller than that of the less graphically-advanced Game Boy Advance cartridge. Regardless, massive game worlds in titles such as "Breath Of The Wild" will all be fitted inside a tiny package, which is a technological achievement in its own right.
