The Bomberman game was in some of the Nintendo Switch trailers. It was eventually revealed by Konami to be "Super Bomberman R," but this is not the only Bomberman-themed game in the works. In fact, Konami is also working on a spin-off title of sorts called "Bombergirl," which is being billed for an arcade release.

"Super Bomberman R" for Nintendo Switch is not the only Bomberman game in the works at Konami. At the annual Japan Amusement Expo, the publisher revealed a new game in the franchise called "Bombergirl."

"Bombergirl" is like the regular Bomberman but with a twist, according to Polygon. "Bombergirl" is currently an arcade-only game in which players can control - for the time being - one of four characters: the bomber; the blocker; the high speed attacker; the long range shooter. Each character has unique skills and as they level up during a match, they will get special attacks like a beam weapon or a flaming sword. Based on footage of the game, it appears Konami has around 15 characters planned.

Just how long-time "Bomberman" fans will react to this news remains to be seen, but no doubt many will be relieved that further "Bomberman" games are in the pipeline, Gamerant reported. Whether "Bombergirl" makes it out of arcades, or even sees a release outside of Japan, will no doubt rest on its success upon release.
