Is The HTC One M10 The Latest Flagship Smartphone From HTC?

The glory days of HTC as an Android heavyweight may well be behind the company as it struggles to keep in par with current tech giants like Samsung and Huawei. Recent rumors claim that HTC is planning regain the lead in the Android-market as it prepares to release its first flagship device of the year, the HTC One M10, also known as HTC Perfume.

Aside from the HTC Perfume, there are rumors pointing to other devices like HTC X9 and HTC O2 are all scheduled to be released in 2016.

Tech experts believe that HTC Perfume is just the company's internal codename for the device. There is a possibility that the name will change once it hits the market.

HTC has kept a quite word about its upcoming flagship device. However, tech analysts are expecting the Taiwan-based company to unveil it at the upcoming 2016 Mobile World Congress which will open its doors on Feb. 22.

Interesting rumors about the HTC Perfume include a possibility that the smartphone will run on Android 6.1 Marshmallow right out of the box and the Sense 8.0 user interface, both features do not exist yet. Most HTC smartphones only has updates for Android 6.0 and Sense 7.0 but analysts are positive that Sense 8.0 will be released alongside Google's next Android Marshmallow update, according to 9to5 Google.

As for the hardware specs, HTC has a long history of using Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets on its flagship devices so it will not be a surprise if the HTC Perfume will have a Snapdragon 820 inside it. The chipset is the first to be manufactured using the 14nm process, a technological feat which can significantly boost battery life.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 also has an integrated Adreno 530 graphics processing unit which promises a better 3D performance. Other rumored A new modem chip for improved mobile connections, better camera image, and a new audio chip for better sound virtualization.

The HTC Perfume is expected to sport 6-inch display with Quad HD resolution, 4 GB of internal memory and two choices of storage space; 64 GB and 128 GB. It is also expected that the Perfume will have a 3,500 mAh battery pack, according to Techno Buffalo.
