"Star Wars Battlefront 2" brings good news as it not only gets the single-player campaign, it's also "even bigger" than the last. The first next-generation "Star Wars Battlefront" game was marred by its lack of a full-blown single-player campaign. The sequel hopes to address this issue by adding a single-player campaign to its repertoire.

Furthermore, it's hinted that "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will also be "even bigger" since it will feature places and events from different eras in the "Star Wars" film universe. According to GameSpot, EA CEO Andrew Wilson mentioned the films "The Force Awakens" and "Rogue One" which suggests that a chunk of these films will be featured.

Making up for the first game

Aside from various "Star Wars" eras being included, there's also new places, planets and more heroes to be added. The hero count will most likely be getting a significant bump since new era characters and old era characters will be included in one game.

It's also confirmed that "Battlefield" developers DICE will once again be handling the "Battlefront" sequel. EA DICE will be working on "Battlefront 2" alongside Motive Studios and Criterion Software.

The first "Battlefront" game still gets some love

Though it's natural for fans to assume that the "Battlefront 2" announcement might signal the end of the first game. However, EA insisted that they're not done yet with "Star Wars Battlefront."

According to Polygon, the developers even updated "Star Wars Battlefront" just recently, adding new tweaks and balancing the overall gameplay. The game devs tried to incorporate a single-player element in the first "Battlefront" by adding skirmish mode.

While skirmish mode made offline play enjoyable, the mode was only limited to a few maps. The devs stated in their blog that they won't be expanding the skirmish mode anymore. They reiterated that they're not "done" with the first game yet, it's not certain as to what extent they'll be willing to support the game before eventually pulling its plug.
