Swedish multinational manufacturing company Volvo has announced that it is introducing "Skype for Business" in the latest model of its car.

The Volvo 90 Series vehicles will be the first car to feature the application. The idea behind this innovative concept, according to Volvo Vice President of Consumer Connectivity Services, Anders Tylman-Mikiewicz, is making conference calls easy while traveling, according to NDTV.

He also talked about the difficulty of managing a call properly while in a car. A call can distract a driver and make him lose focus on the road. This new integration by Volvo would allow calls to take place smoothly without running any risk of road hazards.

According to Neowin, this new feature will enable a person to have all the information about important calls and schedules in front of him. At present, only audio is being offered for these calls, and it is hard to imagine that video calls would also be provided since they can serve as a great distraction.

While the concept of providing with in-built call facilities in cars is not a novel idea, it will be interesting to see how Volvo makes its Skype for business stand out. With rivals like Android Auto and Apple's CarPlay, Volvo would need to make its calling application as genuine and innovative as possible.
