Microsoft recently hired female Go-Go dancers to perform at its Xbox party and it did not go down well with feminist around the world. The company was attacked for not respecting women, and as such, was forced to come out with an apology.

We're not sure who at Microsoft sanctioned this thing, but they will surely feel the wrath of the higher-ups now that folks are complaining. We understand that several persons who attended the party took to social media to voice their concerns. Not too long before the party, the software giant held a "Women in Gaming" luncheon to help with the promotion of diversity in the industry.

"It was unequivocally wrong and will not be tolerated," according to Xbox head Phil Spencer about the after-party where dancers in abbreviated school-girl outfits reportedly greeted party-goers and danced on platforms. "I know we disappointed many people, and I'm personally committed to holding ourselves to higher standards." Karmina Vincent (@spamoir) via Twitter.

We expect this little problem to go away real fast, so Microsoft should not get into any real problems. Furthermore, we also expect the company to learn from its mistakes. These are changing times and not similar to a decade ago where anything could happen in the gaming industry and no one would bat an eye.

Those days are no more seeing as women have increased their rights in society. You see, objectifying women will never go away, but that doesn't mean Microsoft should condone it. The company must live up to a better standard that others will want to follow because we all know the games industry is not a pretty place for women, and that is something we want to change.

The software giant should have never allowed this to happen in the first place, but now it should never do it again.
