Still, gaming fans might be expecting several new characters or update graphics for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" after Capcom and Marvel Games showcased it during E3 2017 and CEO 2017, EventHubs reported.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" during E3 week featured a story mode demo that players can download in the PSN for free, not mention adding new faces like Thanos, Gamora, Zero, Nathan Spencer into the roster.

Meanwhile, Capcom producer Mike Evans made a comment about the possible status of the X-Men in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" as he told GameSpot that modern Marvel fans might not remember the characters from the mutant superhero team.

Evans cited characters like Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy as memorable characters in the Marvel universe and also teased Venom or Carnage in the game's roster.

The absence of the X-Men in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's" roster has been the source of debate amongst gaming fans as characters like Wolverine, Storm, Magneto etc. have been featured in several crossover games since "X-Men vs. Street Fighter."

Evans stated before that the Marvel side will not restricted to just characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe leading to the possibility of adding the X-Men and the Fantastic Four into the game. He added that the roster of "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" was already "set in stone" before its public appearance last year.

Several possible leaked characters include Dormamu, Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, Venom and Winter Soldier for the Marvel side, while Firebrand, Frank West, Hunter, Jedah, Mike Haggar and Nemesis represent Capcom.

So far, the confirmed characters in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" are Captain America, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Thor, Nova, Rocket Raccoon/Groot, Hawkeye, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Ultron, Ryu, Chun-Li, Arthur, Chris Redfield, Dante, Mega Man X, Zero, Morrigan, Nathan Spencer, Strider Hiryu and Sigma.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will launch on Sept. 19 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
