The latest updates for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will feature a possible game demo and Utada Hikaru's new theme song at D23 Expo 2017.

It was during the "Kingdom Hearts" Orchestra Concert tour that Square Enix showcased a new gameplay trailer for "Kingdom Hearts 3" and teased that more details will be coming at this year's D23 Expo next month in Anaheim, California.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu (via ComicBook) that a possible demo for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be featured in D23 Expo and explained that showcasing the new trailer at the "Kingdom Hearts" concert was perfect timing for them.

Nomura also noted that the footage from the trailer was “only in the Hercules world,” and just revealed a small portion of what "Kingdom Hearts 3" was all about. He add that the next trailer will have a Japanese version and a North American version but the battle scenes were from an actual gameplay footage.

Square Enix is currently editing the D23 trailer for "Kingdom Hearts 3" and it will likely be longer than the orchestra trailer. It will also show some new elements that should meet the gaming fans' expectations, and could also mean a glimpse at new worlds that are yet to come within the sequel.

Meanwhile, the D23 Expo could also feature a new theme song for "Kingdom Hearts 3" performed by Japanese pop singer Utada Hikaru.

Utada Hikaru is best known to make the official soundtracks for "Kingdom Hearts" game series such as "Hikari" for the Japanese version and its western counterpart "Simple and Clean," with most recent rehash, "Ray of Hope Mix."

Other "Kingdom Hearts" songs that Utada performed include "Passion" and "Sanctuary" for "Kingdom Hearts 2."

It is previously hinted that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will likely launch in the next three years. Square Enix published its financial results and amongst all the stuff about the success of "Brave Exvius" and "NieR: Automata," they listed both "Final Fantasy" remake and "Kingdom Hearts 3" in the fiscal year of 2018 and beyond.

Meaning, Square Enix could place the release date of these two games next year until sometime in 2020.

The story of the "Kingdom Hearts 3" takes place after the events of "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance." It also starts with King Mickey and Riku finding the remaining Keyblade wielders.

Sora, Donald, and Goofy, on the other hand, are busy in pursuit of the Seven Guardians of Light across myriad in the different worlds. All of this is being done in an attempt to stop the new Organization XIII and Master Xehanort's evil plan for the Keyblade war, Digital Spy reported.

Gaming fans will just have to wait for "Kingdom Hearts 3" details at D23 Expo 2017.
