Samsung intends to reveal and release the Galaxy Note 8 ahead of schedule, reports said, adding the tech giant will introduce the phablet flagship in the third week of August and not via the IFA 2017 Berlin trade show as earlier suggested. Likely, the handset will drop by the 20th of the month.

This was the latest estimate provided by Chinese gadget tipster Ice Universe through Weibo, who also predicted the handset could touch down by August 14. The source according to BGR was fairly reliable.

The timing is also in line with the latest report from Reuters that pointed to a late August outing for the Note 8. The report, however, did not provide a specific timing for the revelation but it was understood Samsung will stage an event in New York for the device unveiling.

Reuters likewise claimed the Note 8 is packed with dual camera, something that is lacking with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The device's rear shooter will boast of 12MP wide-angle and 13MP telephoto lens, and both will be equipped with 3X optical zoom and OIS.

Inside, the Reuters affirmed the reports that the Note 8 will rock a Snapdragon 835 SoC but in some markets the main engine is an Exynos 8895 processing chip. There was no mention of specific RAM support but it's expected to be between 4GB and 6GB.

Citing it's unnamed source, the news agency indicated that the Galaxy Note 8 display screen will be slightly larger than what was seen with the Galaxy S8 Plus, which stretches diagonally at 6.2-inch. Unconfirmed reports said the Note 8 screen will measure 6.3-inch with the same Infinity Display that Samsung has deployed with the GS8 and GS8+.

However, it is unlikely that the Note 8 will have a fingerprint sensor that is embedded under the front display. Reuter said the chance is higher for the device to unbox with the Touch ID-like feature located on the rear panel.

The report did not touch on the possible Galaxy Note 8 asking price but it's projected to be between $800 and $900. And most likely, the Note 8 on release date will be powered by Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Android O to come later as a firmware update.
