OnePlus 5 First Official Look, Price and Release Date Revealed!

The OnePlus 5 is reportedly the most expensive model upgrade of the line that selling price could go as high as $550. The significant price increase though is justified by premium specifications, headlined by the Snapdragon 835 processor and 4000mAh battery pack.

The latter, according to GSM Arena, was included in the freshly leaked specs sheet of the OP5, somehow debunking the earlier reports that the handset is only packed with a 3300mAh battery or the same rating that Samsung will deploy with the refurbished Galaxy Note 7.

Also revealed in the specs sheet is the purported RAM support for the eight-core SD 835 chipset that will power the OnePlus 5. It appears that for the 64GB model, the included RAM is 6GB while the 128GB OP5 will boast of a whopping 8GB RAM provision.

The same document also claimed the 2017 OnePlus refresh will be made available in three color options - Slate Grey, Soft Gold and Deep Black. But it is understood that Deep Black will only be offered in the 128GB variant.

The leaked OP5 specs also indicated that for the Indian market, the handset's selling price will start at RS 33,000 or roughly $512. The figures appear in line with the YouTube report posted by The Verge, which stated the fifth OnePlus upgrade will be the most expensive of the line. For reference, the OnePlus 3T hit the market with an original sticker price of $439.

In China, the OnePlus 5 is start selling at $499 for the 64GB model and $549 for the 128GB edition, per the estimation provided by 9to5Google. But for the North American market, it's fair to assume of a slight price bump when sales tax is factored in.

In the same YouTube presentation, the OnePlus 5 final cut has been revealed, confirming that the device is essentially a doppelganger of the iPhone 7 Plus. In fact, not only the OP5 copied the overall 7 Plus look but it also adopted the dual camera set up with equal emphasis on Portrait Mode or Bokeh effect when capturing images.

Its maker has already confirmed the OnePlus 5 unveiling will happen on June 20 but the actual release date will start June 21 in China and June 22 in India with the rest of the world to follow shortly.
