"Playerunknown's Battlegrounds" is getting a huge update that includes vaulting, more weather effects, new weapons and a zombie mode. This is confirmed by the game creator Brendan Greene who gave some details on upcoming updates for the game.

According to Gamespot, the new update will bring in additional weather effects, new weapons, and vaulting over objects, which is the most significant addition. This brings good news to fans who get frustrated over the current mechanics since it is hard to get over fences, rocks, and even just small obstacles.

When the massive new update goes live for 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds", specific mechanics for jumping or vaulting over small objects will be added and it will be very helpful for players to navigate through the map. As for the new weather effects, the present map features only clear skies or downpours.

With the new update, there will be sunset and fog variants. Greene also said that these new weather effects will influence gameplay, such as the fog that will make it difficult for sniper to see through the weather.

Another new additions are replay system and new the OTS 7.62mm bullpup rifle. The replay system allows players to rerun and watch an entire game with a free camera, and the rifle is designed for short- to medium-range combat.

Greene also mentioned two new maps that are in development - one is a desert ruins of Peru the other in the winter Adriatic region. A mod support is also coming to "Playerunknown's Battlegrounds" but like the map, it is a long term project, so fans should not expect them to arrive along with these mentioned new features.

Finally, "Playerunknown's Battlegrounds" will also receive a zombie mode as a new feature, and these undead will be controlled by players themselves. In a report by Polygon, the player-controlled zombies will be in a new mode and not a part of the base game.

The developer announced the new mode via Twitter and also noted that this will not be a part of the base game. There is no definite date for the release of the new update and the zombie mode.

"Player Unknown's Battlegrounds" is curently available on PC.  Console version of the game is expected to launch on Xbox One X and Xbox One soon.
