The plan hatched by Samsung is to reportedly preempt the Apple iPhone 8 release date by rolling out the Galaxy Note 8 ahead of the expected touchdown timing, said to take place August this year. However, the latest update indicated of an IFA 2017 debut for the Android phablet flagship in early September.

That would mean the Note 8 unpacking will see a slight delay but still way ahead of Apple's 10th anniversary iPhone refresh, Android Headlines reported, adding that the IFA 2017 trade show in Berlin will run from September 1 to 6. It is expected the Note 8 will among the first to get unpacked in the same event.

Apple is believed to uncloak the next iPhone around middle of September with the availability in the immediate weeks to follow. However, speculations are rife that while Apple has already commenced mass production of the 2017 iPhones the iPhone 8 will not start selling until October or November this year. And the chance is high that there will be supply shortages.

So if Samsung will indeed introduce the Note 8 in early September and the device will be made available soon after, it will still enjoy a significant lead time against the iPhone 8, which is in line with an earlier claim made by a Korean publication.

According to The Bell, Samsung intends to accelerate the launch of the Galaxy Note 8 by unveiling the device middle of August and followed by a more comprehensive preview in Berlin. The idea is for the Note 8 to get a head start against the iPhone 8.

Rumors indicate Samsung's second flagship offering this 2017 will prove a worthy opponent for the next iPhone. The handset is seen to largely mirror the Galaxy S8 and supply the missing features of the latter such as dual camera and a fingerprint sensor embedded under the front glass display that measures 6.3-inch.

The Galaxy Note 8 is also tipped to be the first flagship phone to rock Qualcomm's updated Snapdragon 835 chip that will be marketed as SD 836 with RAM support of up to 6GB.

The device, however, is not expected to unbox with Android O as leaked details suggested that on release date it will be Android 7.1.1 Nougat that will run the Galaxy Note 8 show.
