"Borderlands 3" release date and its new logo have been leaked in a recent retailer listing. If this leak is any indication, the next entry to the series will be launched in 2017.

This news has arrived from based on a pre-order listing spotted at European retailer Base.com. If this leak is proved to be legit, it corroborates with reports earlier that "Borderlands 3" is in development for sometime now.

By simply doing a quick search of "Borderlands" on the retailer's page will show up the collection of Borderland games, namely the "Borderlands" bundle, "The Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel". Interestingly enough, the search results also includes a listing for "Borderlands 3".

The said listing, however, does not have much details to offer like an official description and so on since it appears to be empty for now. There is no proper game box either other than a new logo.

What can only be seen is the pre-order option of "Borderlands 3" on PS4 and Xbox One. It also indicates December 31, 2017 as release date, although, gamers know well that a date like this could be just a placeholder date and will be subject to change.

What remains to be seen is it the new title will be out this year. Some even bet on the possibility that the threequel will be getting an impending announcement at E3 this week.

Speculations regarding the development of "Borderlands 3" first broke on the net when game developer Gearbox revealed set of images at GDC presentation earlier this year. Then the company CEO Randy Pitchford teased fans of his photo wearing in motion capture suit on his official Twitter account.

Then, it did not take long for game publisher Take-Two to confirm that an AAA title will be released in 2018 alongside "Red Dead Redemption 2". This update sparked a lot of talks in the gaming community that it is most likely "Borderlands 3" or "Bioshock 4" but the many, they are hoping it is the former.

Fans should keep an eye for any news on "Borderlands 3" that might come up before E3 ends on Thursday, June 15. The rumored game's predecessor was released in September 2012.
