The search giant is now said to be in the works of the second iteration. That said, Google's Pixel 2 is now being anticipated to take the wraps off sometime in October. However, several smartphone manufacturers such as the Chinese tech giant, One Plus is also said to be unveiling their next flagship killer, the One Plus 5.  Google's co-founder Andy Rubin, is ready to innovate in the smartphone market with its newly announced Essential Smartphone.

OnePlus 5

The OnePlus 5 to come with 5.5-inch dual-curved edge AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD 1080p. The OnePlus 5 to power by Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB of RAM with two storage variants - 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. On the front, the device is believed to sport a 16-megapixel shooter and a dual-camera setup on the rear to help users capture better photos in low light conditions. The OnePlus 5 will run on the Android 7.1 out of the box and reportedly, to keep the power on is a 4000mAh battery life capacity. The OnePlus 5 will hit the market before the end of June with a price tag of $450.

Google Pixel 2

The Google Pixel 2 to come with curved OLED display, and would feature the stunning curved "Infinity Displays." Powered by Snapdragon 835 with eight cores and 4GB of RAM. It is also likely to run on the Android O operating system. As for the cameras, Google is reportedly focusing on enhancing the device's camera. It'll come water resistant and will feature Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0 feature with USB-C, 4K display Daydream ready, and Quick Charge 4.0. Google Pixel 2's release date is expected this coming October. Expected price at around $650.

Essential Smartphone

The Essential phone is made to challenge with the best smartphones this year. The Essential Phone features an edge-to-edge-display. Fueled by Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB of RAM, 128GB storage and a 19:10 Quad HD display. Keeping the power on is a decent 3,040mAh battery. Essential Smartphone can take on the likes of any high-end phones in the tech market today. As for the price, expect to pay  $699

Verdict

The OnePlus 5 has the upper hand over Google Pixel 2 and Essential smartphone comes to RAM size. It all boils down to the price, which plays a huge role in the whole comparison. The OnePlus 5 could come out as an alternative to this year's biggest smartphone. Clearly, OnePlus 5 comes with a much practical price yet still powerful enough to truly take on among all the biggest smartphones this year.
