Android co-founder Andy Rubin is back on track and this time with a new Essential smartphone. Rubin, best known as the co-founder of Android, is making a top-end smartphone to take on the likes major smartphones this year. Meanwhile, after the major success of Google's first-gen Pixel smartphones, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the search giant is now working on working closely on its second iteration, the Google Pixel 2 expected to be unveiled in October.

The next gen pixel will feature an improved processor and camera, this could justify the rumored higher price. Google Pixel 2 is set to flaunt an OLED curved with "Infinity Displays." Google Pixel 2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor chip, coupled with 4GB of RAM capacity. According to reports, the new Pixel phone will come more affordable this year. The next Google smartphone will be the first to ship with Android 8.0 or Android 0. Pixel fans might also see a 4K display on the Pixel 2, Daydream ready and Quick Charge 4.0. Reports claim, a $650 USD price tag for the upcoming device is likely to hit the market.

Essential Smartphone

The Essential phone is made to challenge with the best smartphones this year. The Essential Phone features an edge-to-edge-display. Powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB of RAM, 128GB storage, a 19:10 Quad HD display. Keeping the power on is a 3,040mAh battery.

As for the camera, the front is a 13-megapixel dual rear camera setup, with the secondary lens being a black and white sensor and for the front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor that is packed to record 4K video recording. Essential is created in a combination of titanium and ceramic materials, which makers suggest to be more durable than any competing smartphones from the rival brands.  As for the price, it'll come around  $699.
