The OnePlus 5 release date will happen summer of 2017, as confirmed by its maker, but the latest rumors claimed the actual device rollout will be on June 15 or just a few weeks away. The next-gen flagship killer is also said to sport a vertical dual camera that is rumored for the Apple iPhone 8.

But unlike the next iPhone, the OP5's rear shooter will be center-located or similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S8, BGR reported. It's highly likely too that OnePlus will make its latest offering available as early as June 15 or in line with the company's recent confirmation that it will be a summer debut for the OnePlus 3T successor.

The same report, however, noted that the June outing could be China-only, meaning the rest of the world will have to wait a little longer. As in the previous models, the OnePlus 5 is expected to hit the North America, Europe and select Asian markets outside mainland China.

Earlier, leaked device renders and details indicated the new OnePlus will not have an all-screen display maker as the device said in a social media post that the handset's fingerprint sensor will be front-located and likely integrated with the physical home button.

Then top OnePlus executives dropped clues that the chip to power the OnePlus 5 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835, which the chipmaker subsequently confirmed. Following the revelation, reports came out that RAM support for the fifth-generation OnePlus will start at 6GB with 64GB of basic memory. A premium model is likely to be offered as well, supposedly boasting of 128GB internal storage and a whopping 8GB of RAM.

BGR said the OnePlus 5 main shooter will be equipped with 16-megapixel lens.

As for the pricing, conflicting reports claim the next flagship killer from OnePlus will cost no more than $440 but according to Android Authority it's possible the handset sticker price could go as high as $650, which is a level that can be justified "as long as its hardware specs are equal, or even beyond, the flagship phones offered from its rivals."
