Recent reports revealed how new technologies are being integrated on the upcoming BMW 8 series. However, there are reports that the new elite car would not be adding self-driving technology as users wanted it to have.

It appears that even though the car is considered as one of the luxurious models, some features such as self-driving are not added. On a side note, BMW is proud to release this car by 2018. "The BMW Concept 8 Series is our take on a full-blooded high-end driving machine," said Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design. "It is a luxurious sports car which embodies both unadulterated dynamics and modern luxury like arguably no other. For me, it's a slice of pure automotive fascination."

Marketing-yammer aside, the 8 Series Concept is a striking thing. The nose and tail have got a little of the i8's design elements in them and the lines are elegant, and the front also looks slightly like a flattened head of some bottom-feeding fish, but it's still very sleek, similar to the 6 Series Coupe.

The BMW 8 Series is based on the aluminum and carbon-fibre dense structure of the 7 Series and BMW could so easily have made it closer in spirit to a two-door 7 Series, as Mercedes-Benz does with its own S-Class Coupe.

BMW clearly has just token rear seats, and a profile and stance that speak of its ambition on the race track scream "proper GT" and not "two-door limo." The definitive production car will be shown later this year but don't expect to see anything radically different to this car, as noted by the same post.

As for self-driving technology, it appears that the new innovation is not yet fated to enter the BMW 8 series. As for the rumors regarding the prestigious car, everything should be taken with a grain of salt in mind.
