Luca Todesco, as expected, joined in on the ongoing discussions on the likelihood of an iOS 10.3-10.3.1 jailbreak, which supposedly will be built with the help of a kernel exploit that security researcher Adam Donenfeld said will be made public in August. The solution could come from Todesco himself, or Team Pangu or any other interested developers.

Actually, the Italian hacker did not commit to release another jailbreak tool apart from his existing Yalu1011 and Yalu103 solutions. In a series of recent tweets, Todesco merely provided "some worthwhile expert advice in order to attempt and clarify on a situation," Redmond Pie said in a report.

The Yalu jailbreak maker offered some scenarios to expect in case Donenfeld actually releases the promised kernel exploit for iOS 10.3.1.

For one, the dev seems convinced that among the jailbreak possibilities to follow the Donenfeld exploit release is for hackers to replicate the bugs from firmware 10.3.1 and make them work for the iPhone 7 series, specifically the units that have been jailbroken using the Yalu1011 solution. Todesco was clear that Yalu102, which has no support for the iPhone 7, will not benefit from the same exploit.

Todesco further explained that the kernel patch protection (KPP) bypass for the iPhone 7 is workable or can be tweaked by willing developers. The same is likewise stable that Todesco said "better bugs," can make things better - that is improved Yalu1011 but not necessarily lead to an actual iOS 10.3.x jailbreak.

As mentioned, Todesco's tweets did not include any solid hints of a future JB tool coming from his end. If indeed an iOS 10.3 jailbreak will materialize soon, the solution will mostly likely be provided by Team Pangu as the same group has already demonstrated that the firmware can be cracked open and will include support for iPhone 7 and possibly most 64-bit devices.

In effect, the ball will be on Pangu or TaiG or even Todesco to make something of the Donenfeld exploit that will be made known in the coming months. So while waiting, it seems prudent that those already with jailbroken iPhones and iPads must stick with what they have.

But for those who made the jump to iOS 10.3.1, Todesco appears to agree that any of the firmware versions 10.3.2 and 10.3.3 (now in beta version) are potential jailbreak killers. If the plan is to jailbreak with the rumored iOS 10.3 crack from Team Pangu, users are advised to stay with 10.3.1 or downgrade now from 10.3.2 as Apple still signs the firmware.
