Google Pixel 2017 Rumors: Build/Design, Specs, Release Date and Pricing Details Known So Far

Rumors say Google might introduce one or two models of the Pixel 2 at the Google I/O 2017 Developers Conference that will commence this week, on May 17 exactly. True or not, a device concept maker decided to jump the gun on Google and shared a render of the Pixel 2 that is nothing short of jaw-dropping.

The Google Pixel 2 visualization by YouTube channel Concept Creator (video can be viewed below) is a significant jump from the 2016 versions, specifically in terms of design, according to WCCFTech. Immediately noticeable is the nearly all-screen profile as the render presented the next Pixel with no bezels on the left and right edges.

The only break on the immersive display is the top portion and bottom that is considerably reduced from the original. Whatever is left of the free front space now occupied by a dual speaker system - one sound blaster sits on the former location of the handset button and another on the top edge of the device.

And sitting right next to the phone speaker is the front camera sensor in dual setting, which if Google will adopt should make for a killer selfie shooting setup.

On the rear plate, the expected dual rear camera will be found in vertical configuration and right below the mechanism, Concept Creator placed the fingerprint sensor, as if telling Samsung that this is the correct way to do. With the Galaxy S8 fingerprint reader placement, Samsung drew flak for locating the biometrics reader on the left side of the camera lens that for many proved hard to reach.

The Pixel 2 concept author also proposed the following specifications: a 5.6-inch AMOLED panel that renders in QHD resolution, Gorilla Glass 5 front panel protection, 12MP main shooter with f/1.7 aperture and the freshly cooked Android version 8.0 (rumored to be nicknamed Android Oreo) jumping out of the box.

Powering up the next Pixel is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM, and this forecast by Concept Creator is in line with recent reports that all three handset models to come out - codenamed Walleye, Muskie and Taimen - will rock and roll boasting of SD 835 and increased RAM provision.

As mentioned, there might be a sneak peek of a Pixel 2 model via the Google I/O 2017 that will kick off this week but the actual release date is not seen to happen until a few months after.
