There are different types of cancer almost from A to Z. Knowing the major types of this dreaded disease and their early signs is, therefore, important.

The major types of cancer are melanoma, sarcoma, carcinoma, leukemia and lymphoma, according to WebMD.

The most commonly diagnosed type of cancer is carcinoma. They frequently manifest on the skin, lungs, breast, and other major human organs.

Lymphomas, as the name suggests, are cancers of the lymphocytes. They are primarily observed on small leukocyte or white blood cells, occurring especially in the lymphatic system.

On the other hand, Leukemia is the cancer of the blood. Unlike other forms, this major type of cancer does not frequently form into solid tumors.

Moreover, sarcomas usually originate in muscles, bone, fats, or even cartilages. Unlike the other types, this specific type of cancer is deemed as uncommon by medical experts. Melanomas are cancers that are observed in the cells that make the pigment of human skins.

Apart from knowing these types of cancer, it would also be beneficial to take note of some of the common signs of the diseases, regardless of its kind. These symptoms should be considered as a critical sign that something is wrong with the body. Therefore, necessitating a thorough check-up.

If cancer has metastasized or spread to other body parts, its symptoms would be more visible. As cancer grows, it would tend to push nearby organs, according to American Cancer Society. Thus, an individual may feel pressure in a particular part of his body.

The most common manifestation include but may not be limited to fever, extreme tiredness (fatigue) or weight loss. It is experienced because cancer is consuming the body's energy supply, instead of the healthy cells utilizing it.

Since the signs and symptoms cancer may be vague at the start, it could somehow be associated with other diseases. That is why if a person starts to feel changes in the body, a check-up is highly advisable to determine the underlying reason.
