High blood pressure could cause severe body pains. However, this can be avoided by frequent exercise and proper medication.

Based on the latest findings presented at the American Heart Association's Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, exercise plays a vital role in avoiding and alleviating common body pains caused by hypertension. These pains affect mainly the muscles, thighs or buttocks.

This pain is characterized by its sudden appearance, and it usually disappears after few minutes. In most cases, people suffering from hypertension-induced pains usually associate the experience with old age and activity.

Experts believe that this pain could be reduced through simple stretching exercises and proper medication.

"This is a very safe, easy intervention that can be done at home and has the potential to really improve your tolerance for walking and get you into a walking program." Express quoted Dr. Judy Muller-Delp, Professor of biomedical science at the Florida State University College of Medicine, saying.

However, the best way to avoid this is to prevent high blood pressure from the very beginning. With the development of medical science, various methods and techniques are being offered to help in controlling one's blood pressure.

By simply maintaining a healthy body weight, you would likely avoid high blood pressure, according to HealthLine. If you are overweight, it is best to lose some weight through exercise and lifestyle change.

In terms of diet, it is highly advised that you should try the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet. The name itself suggests a better way of fighting such illness, through proper nutrition.

Lastly, you could also try to use some herbs to avoid and even lower your blood pressure. However, approval from your doctor should be sought first before using any herbal products.
