'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' Update: Sequel not Appearing in Capcom Pro Tour 2017; 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Characters Rocket Raccoon, Groot Added [VIDEO]

The latest details for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will feature Rocket Raccoon and Groot in the roster and the sequel not appearing in the Capcom Pro Tour 2017.

Two members of the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" as the game's official Twitter page tweeted a gameplay teaser featuring Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

In the video, we see both Rocket and Groot going for an ultimate finisher against Ultron, with Groot pummeling the villain up in the air and Rocket finishes him off with a large cannon saying their famous lines "I am Groot" and "There aint like me, except me."

Hilariously enough, the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Twitter account recognizes the fact that the reveal of this move coincides with the motion picture release of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" film, with two hashtags reading “#ShamelessPlug” and “#MovieTieIn.”

Rocket made his debut in "Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3" while this is Groot's first appearance in the fighting crossover series. Rocket made a brief appearance at the end of the first story trailer for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" asking Mega Man X if how powerful X's buster canon.

Joining Rocket and Groot in the sequel are Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Hawkeye, Thor, Hulk. Ryu, Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu, Chris Redfield and Mega Man X as they battle Ultron and Sigma to save their both Marvel and Capcom worlds.

In other news, Capcom producer Peter "Combofiend" Rosas announced that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will not be featured in this year's Capcom Pro Tour event.

Rosas told VG 24/7 that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" has so many different possibilities and variables. It has all the hooks that players who are looking for depth and strategy in terms of gameplay.

However, because the game is launching on September this year, late in the season for the fighting game community, there will not be any integration with the Capcom Pro Tour series of fighting events, at least not in 2017.

Capcom also revealed that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will not have a cross-platform feature as they have trouble with the Capcom Fighters Network in "Street Fighter 5" and will not risk adding it in the sequel.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will launch on Sept. 19 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
