Previous reports revealed that "Grand Theft Auto 5" will likely feature the Liberty City mod soon as the OpenIV modding group provided some details in its development and are planning a beta test in the spring.

The modding group also offered several screenshots of the Liberty City mod in "Grand Theft Auto 5" as the photos featured city based on the "Grand Theft Auto 4" game. This is a massive effort within "Grand Theft Auto" mod groups, along with past accomplishments including porting "Grand Theft Auto 3" into "Vice City," and "San Andreas" into GTA 4."

The Liberty City mod will be the first big accomplishment for OpenIV mod groups and the engine used in making the mod possible.
