"Cut the Rope: Magic" which is part of ZeptoLab's "Cut the Rope" mobile game franchise, has been named Apple's Free App of the Week on the App Store.  This is the first time that the game has been discounted since it was released for iOS on December 16, 2015.

The regular price of "Cut the Rope: Magic" is $0.99.  The free offer will last a week, until Thursday.  The offer is part of Apple's weekly Free App of the Week where the company selects an app to be featured on the App Store and is given away for free.

The game is the fifth of six mobile games in the popular "Cut the Rope" series.  The first game, "Cut the Rope" was published in 2010 by Chillingo.  All the other games in the franchise were published by its developer, ZeptoLab.

"Cut the Rope: Experiments" was released in 2011.  "Cut the Rope: Time Travel" and "Cut the Rope 2" were released in 2013.  The sixth and latest game in the series is "Cut the Rope 2: Om Nom's Adventure," released last year. ZeptoLab is a Russian entertainment and gaming company founded in 2009.  It is best known for the "Cut the Rope" franchise.

The "Cut the Rope" mobile game series are physics-based puzzle games.  The objective of the game is to feed candy that hangs by ropes, to a little green creature named Om Nom.

In "Cut the Rope: Magic", Om Nom is transported to a storybook world where the levels involve magical elements.  In that world, he also battles an equally candy-loving wizard.  The game features a new transformation ability which allows Om Nom to shrink or change into a different creature.

The game has very good reviews.  On the App Store, it has a rating of 4.5 from 2126 reviews.  It has a score of 87 on Metacritic, indicating general favorable reviews.

The game requires iOS 7.0 and 184 mb of storage.   It is also available for free on the Google Play Store and Amazon App Store.
