The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature a new game mode, Braniac trailer and a new playable character reveal next week.
A new game mode for "Injustice 2" has been showcased during the the Insomnia Gaming Festival in Birmingham, England last week. The game mode is called the "Multiverse Mode," a single-player game mode which is similar to the "Living Tower" mode in "Mortal Kombat X," and a screenshot of different planets are featured in it.

Each planet in "Multiverse Mode" has between one and three objectives for players to complete, and will expire and refresh in a set amount of time. There are also squares lit up in the interface to track the player's progress from the planet select screen in "Injustice 2," PvPLine reported.
Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios is also teasing the fourth chapter in the "Shattered Alliances" cinematic trailer for "Injustice 2" this week. A new poster for "Injustice 2" featured one of Superman's arch-nemesis Braniac and serve as the main antagonist of the sequel's plot.
The past chapters of the "Shattered Alliances" cinematic trailers featured the perspectives of Superman's Regime, Batman's Insurgency, Supergirl's allegiance and Gorilla Grodd's new group, the Society. Now, gamers will witness the rise of Braniac and his true role in "Injustice 2" as the new cinematice trailer will launch this week on April 20.
Lastly, a new playable character will added in "Injustice 2's" roster on April 28, GameSpot reported. While it is unknown yet as to who is the next DC character joining the game, many have speculated that it could be The Joker, while others think it could be Jason Todd a.k.a. Red Hood.
The current playable characters include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Swamp Thing, Robin,Doctor Fate, Supergirl, Firestorm, Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Bane, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Catwoman, Cheetah, Black Adam, Captain Cold, Braniac and Darkseid.
In addition, characters like Power Girl, Reverse-Flash, Mr. Freeze and John Stewart will be added as premium skins for Supergirl, The Flash, Captain Cold and Green Lantern.
"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
